Forgiveness

Shreya Varghese

I was reading Mathew 6 early this morning and was trying to talk to God about the certain issues that I am facing right now at home like boredom(the only thing I face here) and joblessness. While talking to Bittu Chechi, I realised that I can actually pen down what all I have learnt in my quiet times and what all God has spoken to me.
Since the last three months I noticed that God was trying to bring to me this verse Mathew 6:14 which says “For if you FORGIVE other people when they sin against you ,your Heavenly Father will also FORGIVE you…
Now how can I relate to this? Let me give you a small briefing on my past Life. Before getting saved and knowing God I was the kind of person who would hold grudges for any passing person for petty issues like may be not passing a pleasant smile. There was a lot to be filtered from me and in the past few months and believe me, God was trying to do that at His best. I never liked Forgiving people who never treated me right. I was holding so much against them that it eventually started affecting my time with God and our conversation became more about whining over how others have treated me than Thanksgiving and Praise. It started affecting the way I think and completely left me in havoc for days.
Until one fine day when Pastor Chad spoke about forgiveness in Church, I always thought that because of the people, I am at a very bad state, but actually I realized that it was ME. The fault was within me. I was spending so much of time thinking about what happened and crying about it. I was holding lot of unforgiveness within me and that not only affected me but the other person also. I realized my focus had shifted from His Kingdom to something very destructive and towards the will of the evil one.
As we look in the life of Jesus in Luke 2 where Jesus says in verse 5 “ Son, your sins are forgiven”, we can see how humble and merciful He is. If the whole purpose of our Life is to be like Jesus and if we are not forgiving then we are truly breaking the law for it says in James 2:10, For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it”. You may say that it’s very hard at times but let’s just think - what if Our Father in Heaven would had not chosen to forgive us through Christ, then we would not have been under Grace like we are now today. We would not have the eternal hope which we are seeking today. To be honest I realized that I could be more humble and useful for Christ as soon as I started to Forgive people with the help of the Holy Spirit and constant prayers.

So FORGIVE, its okay if people are mistreating us because in 2 Corinthians 4:17, it says “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all”. Let’s Forgive and get ready for the Kingdom of God which is very near. Let’s become that spotless bride for which Jesus is coming back again. And not to forget our quiet times and prayers which will help us achieve that.

Stay Blessed..:)

Evangelism

Thomson Varghese

It’s a biblical term used to spread the word of God (good news). The people who have the grace of spreading out the word of God are known as evangelists.

Well, what actually is the meaning of spreading the good news?. It’s all about the Jesus, who came to the earth 2000 years ago ,died for our sins and so who so ever might believe in him and repent from their sinful ways, will have a eternal life with the Father in heaven. That’s it, when you as a Christian share this with your loved ones whom you care the most and would like to be with you forever, you have played a small role in making the kingdom of Christ as an evangelist.
So go out and save as many as souls from perishing.

If a question arises in your mind that what is the need of doing it as a person or an individual?
I totally agree with you, but the scripture says in Matthew 28:19-20 that the disciple of Christ must go out and spread the good news to all the nations, which is given as a command. If you’re a disciple of Christ you must give it a try and leave the rest upon Him. And we must know very well that if we disobey His command, then His wrath is going to be against us.

One of most important question that all Christians must know that, why “you”!!

....yes I mean “why you” specifically do this evangelism and spread the word of God, we can find the answer in 2 Corinthians 4:13-15, it says that you believed because of which you spoke with the spirit of faith. We should always think of our past life before we speak about Christ, that how we ourselves have doubted on Christ and our faith. We should know their heart is just like ours before we were born again in Christ. Never emphasise or force them to obey Christ, you should always tell them about “Christian Faith”, that this is something different, much different from all other faiths in the world. Otherwise it all would be the same, whether you speak about Buddha(he was a good man, meditated all the time, left behind all his assets, did lots of good deeds) or Krishna(who did good deeds to Sudama, Google it) or about Christ(who did great and mighty works), until and unless you have Christian Faith, it’s all the same.
Lastly we need to know that this evangelism has an end. Yes it has an end, Jeremiah 31:31-34 says that no longer we need to say our fellow mate that Christ is the lord, because they will all know him. Till then keep on doing this good work by spreading out the word of God. Never be discouraged, if your loved ones don’t accept Christ, but always keep them in prayers and let the sovereign Lord change their heart at his most appropriate time.

God bless you all greatly.

Spiritual Eyes

Paul Daniel
M.Sc Physics , 2nd year

What are the characteristics of spiritual eyes?

- Eyes that don’t stumble
- Eyes that see the vision from God

EYES THAT STUMBLED

Genesis 3:5  - when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes.
Judges 16:1 - then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

2 Samuel 11:2 - It happened, late one afternoon, when David rose from his couch and was walking about on the roof of the king’s house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing

Genesis 19:26 - but Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

These were all anointed people mentioned in the bible but even then their eyes caused them to stumble.

What should we do to prevent stumbling?

Proverbs 4:21- Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heartThe word of god should not leave our eyes and heart.

EYES WHICH SEE THE VISION OF GOD

Who have seen the visions from God?

Daniel 1:17 - Daniel also had insight into all visions and dreams.

Genesis 37:5 - Once Joseph had a dream

Mathew 17:1-9-  please read full passage (verse 1-9)
5 While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved;with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus ordered them, “Tell no one about the vision until after the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”

These people saw visions from God because they were living with God and they had fellowship with Him.

So we need to have fellowship with our God.

May the presence of God be with you at all the times.
